Gertrude Godfried aka "Cocoanut Lady" is a retired school teacher who badly wants to break into show business. She has served 29 years working with unruly children and loathes it! However, she is often tricked into working with children by her so-called talent agency.  She is also married to her cheap, semi-retired husband Godfrey. ​ Debbie has taken De Cocoanut Lady onto American Idol and other shows!
